That smirk at the end is very revealing: "Okay, so you called me out. But you're still going to the gallows while I and my race continue to successfully con, rape, and gain the sympathies of the host societies we infest, and we are still going to continue to control the world in spite of your best efforts to stop us."

This scene in particular, resonates with what is happening in Britain currently & has been happening for the past 20 years. The similarities between then & and now aren't that much different. If one fails to learn from history, then history will repeat itself and remind them.

Over 3k in comments, I'm not going to go through all, so I don't know if anyone has made reference to the MS St. Louis or not. Google it. Hundreds of Jewish refugees fleeing Europe in 1939 on ship called the MS St. Louis, turned away from Cuba, turned away from the US and turned away from Canada, turned away from Britain. Eventually forced to return to Europe in time for the Nazi's to invade France. Most of the Jews ended up dying in concentration camps.

As deeply reprehensible as the antisemitism part of the speech is, the criticism of US actions and of racism were valid. Not as justification for the crimes of the Nazis but as condemnation of anyone who seeks to distinguish between races and excuse oppression based upon ethnicity. The larger point here is that the holocaust was not committed by psychopaths and monsters but by ordinary people who believed in what they were doing and were able to rationalise it. That is what should still terrify us today about the holocaust.

America dropped the two atomic bombs over Japan to end the war -- which it did -- because they knew its leaders were such fanatics they were prepared to fight and lose millions more if the US invaded Japan conventionally. Germany on the other hand -- as proven by Goering's delusions -- dedicated itself to mass murdering millions of innocent Jewish men, women, and children, and in the process started the Second World War, because of an unhinged delusion shared by Goering that a Jewish/Freemason cabal had taken over Germany. The interrogator could have mentioned this? If fact, to show Goering has pathetic he was, he could have sarcastically said that it wasn't all the Jews controlling Germany ... only his second cousin Bernie.

Bad scene. It would have been simple to point out that there is a big difference between mass incarceration and intentional mass murder. It could even be argued that the internment of the Japanese Americans during WWII was partially for their own safety.

Antisemitism is a pathological condition of the mind. I've never understood it. A bit like the MAGA crowd and their fear of anyone who doesn't share their political convictions. That said, Göring here uses typical "whataboutery" when confronted with Nazi crimes. He hasn't any answers for his prejudiced views so falls back on diversion and baseless accusations.

Is Goring right? Short answer: no. Long answer. Nooooooooooo. Let's go point by point: the atomic bombs WERE meant to be dropped on Germany. Specifically Munich and Nuremberg. But the German army folded so quickly in 1945 that the war in Europe ended before the bomb could be finished. Do I expect Goring to know that? No. But even if the bombs had been meant for Japan. The idea of it being some cruel experiment on a minority race is laughable. We had already tested the bomb at Los Alamos. We knew what it could do already, which is they Truman and high command agonized over the use of the bomb! Furthermore. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were legitimate military targets as declared by Japan itself when the Japanese government declared total war. That's kind of what total war means. Goring would know. His buddy Gobblels have a speech in 1943 declaring "Total Kreig" against the allies and the USSR. Second: Japanese internment. Was unconstitutional? Yes, despite what Kormastu vs. US says, and if it ever happens again, God forbid, I hope the supreme court strikes it down 9-0. But was it wrong? Morally, maybe. But Strategically? No. The US military had solid evidence that the Japanese community on the west coast was compromised. It was estimated that 10,000 infiltrators and sympathizers were on the west coast, compounded by the fact on Dec 8th, Japanese migrants in Hawaii got in a shootout with several police and military on Nihau Island for sheltering a downed Japanese pilot. Japanese subs fired on the Oregon coast. Japan invaded Alaska. There was a real danger of a fifth column attack from Japanese on the west coast. It was a necessary action to safeguard the war effort. And I say that as someone who has a direct connection to the Japanese relocation. (The Methodist Church of Bakersfield took conservatorship of property owned by its Japanese members to safeguard it from theft and repossession from people trying to profit off the Internment like the klan or the Banks. I consider it a point of pride the church BTFO'd that scum. Finally, the 'muh segregation' argument. Setting aside that Segregation was already on its way out even before the war and was nearly gone from the north and Midwest. Segregation was the majority opinion for Blacks AND whites. African Americans, or at least, the leaders of the community who were honest like Elijah Muhammad, wanted segregation as badly as the klan did. Because black leaders pointed out that forced integration would rightly lead to what little wealth the black community had being sucked away by the larger market if forces to compete equally alongside whites, which would only lead to more racial violence. The major urban centers of Los Angeles and Chicago tore themselves apart during the war in bloody race riots precisely because they were forcibly integrated. Blacks and Hispanics in many places chose segregation (some still do). The Jews didn't. The Jews were an integrated part of Germany and had been for centuries. America did it's sins. We genocided people same as Germany, Japan, Russia, China, Rwanda, the Congo: same as everyone at some point in history. Ad Hominem To Quo Que. Saying that the other guy is just as bad doesn't make what you did right because Morality doesn't come from Man. It comes from a higher power. It's why Goring got convicted and took the cowards way out instead of facing his crimes like a man. Anybody parroting his argument here or in the last 80 years is an idiot full stop.
